Copiapoa columna-alba

Copiapoa columna-alba

Thousands of specimens of Copiapoa columna-alba, pictured 2.6km (1.6 miles) east of Esmeralda at the mouth of the Quebrada Grande. Note all the plants lean towards the north, probably as a survival technique to minimise their exposure to the sun.
