Ancistrocactus wrightii

Ancistrocactus wrightii

Ancistrocacti come from Mexico and the southern US states and are seen under a variety of names including Glandulicactus, Ferocactus and Thelocactus.

Ancistrocactus wrightii is another slow growing species (the plant pictured is about seven years old from seed), not really beginners plants, but their long spination and brown flowers make them a distinctive addition to any collection.
